ListBelanja
Can I claim groceries for tax relief?
Short answer: no. Groceries and everyday food are personal spending — there is no grocery relief in LHDN's official YA2026 table (26 categories). But a supermarket receipt sometimes holds items that DO qualify, and ListBelanja reads every line of the receipt to find them.

Items on a supermarket receipt that may qualify
- Books, magazines or newspapers — Lifestyle (cap RM2,500).
- Sports equipment — Lifestyle — sports (cap RM1,000).
- Self health-monitoring equipment or test kits — Medical check-up & mental health.

For food businesses
If you run a food business, ingredients bought to sell are a business cost deducted on Form B — not a personal relief. Keep the receipts and separate them from household spending.
What ListBelanja does with grocery receipts
- The AI reads every line of the receipt and matches qualifying items to the right relief — the rest stays as household spending.
- The household budget and grocery price tracker show where the grocery money goes and which shop is cheapest.
- Mixed personal and business receipts can be split line by line.
