Tax relief by your situation — YA2026

People do not search for tax by relief code; they ask “I have two children, what can I claim?” or “my spouse does not work — who should claim?”. Each page below answers one real-life situation with real numbers: the automatic reliefs you get without receipts, the receipt-based reliefs that matter most with their YA2026 caps, the tax at several salary levels, an estimated PCB refund and — for couples — whether separate or joint assessment saves more. Every figure is worked out by the same engine as ListBelanja's calculator and e-Filing, and recalculates itself whenever LHDN or the Budget changes the rates and caps.

How each situation is worked out

  1. Example profile: monthly salary, Form BE family status, and the receipt-based spending typical of that situation.
  2. Automatic reliefs — individual, husband/wife, children, disability and employee EPF at 11% — are given by the engine from the status alone, no receipts.
  3. Tax is worked out twice: without receipts and with the example receipts (each limited by its YA2026 cap); the difference is the saving.
  4. PCB is estimated with LHDN's monthly deduction method (employers do not count receipts); refund = PCB for the year − the real tax.
  5. For couples, the optimiser splits every category and the child reliefs between husband and wife, then compares separate with joint assessment.

Your situation is not here?

The free tax calculator takes your own salary, family status and spending, including a husband-and-wife mode. Inside the app the same numbers are filled from your real receipts through the year and Form BE is prepared box by box.

Frequently asked questions

Are the figures on these situation pages exact for me?

They are planning estimates for an example profile, worked out with the real LHDN YA2026 rates, rebate and relief caps. Your income, receipts and status may differ — use the calculator or the app for your own figures.

Why can the figures change?

These pages are regenerated whenever LHDN or Budget data changes — a new relief cap, tax rate, rebate or EPF rate changes every figure automatically, with nobody retyping anything.

Non-working spouse — joint or separate assessment?

When your spouse has no income at all, you get the Spouse / alimony relief of RM4,000 in your own assessment. The joint-or-separate question arises when both have income; the couple situation pages compare both with the engine.
