How is this projection worked out?

Each year, the monthly contributions (salary × employee rate + salary × employer rate + voluntary contribution) are multiplied by twelve and added to the balance; the dividend is worked out on the opening balance plus half of that year's contributions — an approximation of EPF's daily pro-rated crediting. The salary is increased by the percentage you give every year.

The statutory contribution rates differ by salary level, age and citizenship, and the real dividend is announced by EPF every year — the default rates here are only examples and assumptions. Your EPF statement is the real figure.

Voluntary contributions & salary increases

Small but consistent voluntary contributions compound over decades — change the voluntary contribution figure and watch the balance at retirement age move. A yearly salary increase raises the contributions automatically in the projection.

Employee EPF contributions also reduce your monthly PCB and become a tax relief — our PCB calculator shows the effect on your take-home pay.

Frequently asked questions

Is the dividend in this projection guaranteed?

No. The EPF dividend is announced every year based on investment performance; the figure here is only an assumption you choose. Try a few rates to see a reasonable range.

Why might the default contribution rates differ from my payslip?

The statutory rates depend on salary level, age and citizenship, and you may have opted for a different employee rate. Change the rates in the calculator to match your payslip.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The projection is worked out in your browser; no numbers are sent or stored.
