Nominal versus real value
Nominal value is the ringgit amount at the end of the period. Real value = nominal value ÷ (1 + inflation)^years — what it can buy at today's prices. The difference is the buying power lost to inflation.
The default inflation is the official CPI average; change it to try other scenarios. The rate of return is your assumption — past rates do not guarantee future returns.
